The Colorado Bluegrass Music Society acts as a "label" on ReverbNation, gathering up and displaying the bands on call performance schedule. We also list a hard copy monthly in the Pow'r Pickin' newsletter. If you don't have a ReverbNation page, you're missing out on this benefit.
I know. I know.
You're tweeting, texting, posting and generally flat wore out by the end of the day. However, this one tool will aid us in getting your dates out to the membership and to fans and bookers of music. Do it if you can.
Hey folks. There are plenty of jams listed here. Check them out by day of the week. If you have one that you would like to add, feel free to add it. There's a form there for that. Have one that you know is defunct?? Please let us know. Jams are the heart and soul of the music. We want to stay current.

WHEAT RIDGE, COLORADO––The Colorado Bluegrass Music Society (CBMS) has invested in its members by implementing a new website in an effort to connect members-bands and business members-with the specific audiences they are targeting.
CBMS’ s membership is made up of bands, independent musicians, business members (music stores, music teachers, luthiers…), and as a member organization CBMS has a responsibility to provide a service and value to its membership.
Through www.coloradobluegrass.org, the organization is working to connect its member businesses with those seeking their services; whether booking a band for a wedding, finding a music teacher, or just locating the bluegrass concerts and bluegrass jams taking place across the state. Colorado Bluegrass Music Society wants to be the resource. For members of CBMS who are simply music lovers, and fans of bluegrass music, CBMS is offering online ticket sales to its own concert series, as well as the ability buy or renew memberships online. There is also a link to several popular radio programs that feature bluegrass music programming. And as the festival season approaches, CBMS will do its best to stay on top of the local festival scene in Colorado.
CBMS’ goal is to be a highly-regarded, progressive Colorado organization that leads in education, promotion, preservation and proliferation of bluegrass music through its involvement of fans, musicians, businesses and promoters in festivals, jams, events, concerts and educational programs. It is a social network, an information resource and a powerful voice for bluegrass music, which is apparent in our website, festivals, newsletter, concerts, membership, educational programs and partnerships.
We hope you had a fantastic Mid-Winter Bluegrass festival. It was good to connect with so many of our statewide membership. Thanks for coming to the CBMS table to say HELLO. And though I didn't get to attend, we heard that Winter WonderGrass was a hit, too. We applaud those hearty individuals for making it a success.
At the annual meeting of the CBMS there was a new board elected. See who is who here.
Like every membership organization, we try to stay on top of the latest greatest tools and benefits that make the most sense for you-our members. And we have to do all of that within a budget. We launched a new website that we hope you will enjoy. The "old" site was chock ful of great information about the organization and the members that make up the organization. The site was also very well indexed--meaning that the search engines LOVED it-- and it always ranked high on the search results, which is good for all of us that have links to the site.
We have the same website address. We simply updated the look and feel of it, and added a few new features, hoping the connectivity helps put you in front of your customers-the people you need to book business. We look forward to your feedback. Please give us time to make adjustments as we move forward.
Though March Madness is usually reserved for basketball... we have some concerts coming up. March 7 is Parker Mainstreet's last Winter Series Concert featuring the Steel Pennies. Tickets can be purchased online here. A shout out to the Crystal Hill Billys who will be the opening act. Check the "Show Schedule" under "Bands on Call" to see what our members are offering up all across the state of Colorado and beyond.
We are looking to YOU to keep us in the loop on the jam scene in Colorado. It's a big area to cover. The new website organizes the jams by day of the week. So check that out. If you see a jam that's not happening anymore, it would be great to let us know. And if you want to add a jam, please do so here.
In April we will be celebrating the coming of Spring with the Durango Bluegrass Meltdown. That happens April 17-19, 2015. And here's a link to the festivities. Or check out the 2015 North Platte Country Bluegrass Festival, April 23-25. Check here for details.
There are several volunteer opportunities with CBMS. We are dividing up the volunteer gigs by category. We think it will make it a bit easier for you. Rather than just saying, "We need volunteers!" We are saying, "We need volunteers to help with....membership, ticket sales, events, social media, etc..." Check out the opportunities here.
Colorado Bluegrass Music Society is a group of people who love music. They are musicians, fans, business-owners, bands...you name it. We're all the authors of this blog. If you have news, please let us know here.
