August, 2007
- Thanks to the folks who made the Frank Wolking benefit a success.
From Jon Chandler:
"The August 21 America’s Soul Live benefit for Sons
& Brothers' Frank Wolking raised $4,045 to help pay for treatment
of Frank's aggressive cancer. So many people were involved in making
the sold out show and silent auction a success: Our loyal audience
that packed the Olde
Town Pickin' Parlor and laughed at Ernie
[Martinez]'s jokes; Bill and Linda Patterson, for his wonderful
photography and their generous bids. The Historic Hotel Colorado in
Glenwood Springs for the donation of two nights in the incredible
Molly Brown Suite; The Historic Plains Hotel in Cheyenne for an unforgettable
room and food package; Gary McMahan, Juni Fisher, Andy Nelson, Dakota
Blonde, Johnny Neill, Timothy P. Irvin & the Rocky Mountain Stocking
Stuffers, CowboyPoetry.com, Patty Clayton and l il' ol' me for CD,
poster, and book donations; Ernie
Martinez for his donation of pickin' lessons; Kit Simon for his
generosity and hard work; Susan Sutherland for her beautiful photography;
Pat Chandler & Jane Leche for working the crowd; the United States
Forest Service for its fine donation of forest "stuff";
Butch Hause for working his tail off to make sure the sound was perfect;
the Greg family for bids, aid and comfort; each of the donors who
gave freely of their time, effort, abilities and products; anyone
else I've temporarily misplaced in my cluttered little mind; and the
players - Jon, Butch, Ernie, Johnny, Kit, Mary Huckins and Tony Raddell
(Dakota Blonde), Bill Barwick, Dana Vernon, Timothy P. Irvin, Martin
Gilmore, Patty Clayton, and, of course, the Loose
Cannon Bluegrass Band featuring Ernie Martinez, Lisa Astrella,
Marte Meyer, Mike Lombard and Gary Barker. It was a pleasure working
on this project, and we send our best to Frank, Val, Mike, Joe &
Aaron Wolking."
