Rough Cut Bluegrass Band
Mike Zweibel - banjo * Allan Biesman - guitar * Rob Griffith - mandolin * Patty Walter - bass Formed around 1985, the band has had a number of configurations, with Allen Biesman (programmer/analyst, guitar and vocals) as the only original member. Rob Griffith (dad, mandolin and vocals) has been a member for over 12 years and Michael Zweibel (attorney and banjo) for over 6 years. Last, but definitely not least, Patty Walter (nursing instructor and bass) has been playing and writing original songs for for the band for over 4 years. They have been playing almost exclusively in the Greeley area: arts picnics, private parties and an occasional small bluegrass festival or club gig. They were doing all covers until Patty joined the group, and after she gave the band a few originals to work out, they all began working at writing. In September of 2000, they went into the studio to record an entire CD. They had eight originals and planned to add a couple more along with a couple of covers. They recorded two of their originals and planned to go back several times to complete the album. Unfortunately, they have had some serious health problems within the band and have had to put things on hold for a while. They do plan to complete their CD. They are proud to have one of Patty's original songs "The Greatest Thing" on the CBMS 2001 Compilation CD.
