Ron Spears and Within Tradition
Hal Horn - banjo * Jerry Logan - bass * Ron Spears - mandolin * Charlie Edsall - guitar * Bruce Johnson - fiddle Ron Spears is an outstanding musician and outstanding song-writer. He has thirty years experience in the acoustic music business. His songs have been recorded by IIIrd Tyme Out, Lou Reid and Carolina, the Bluegrass Cardinals, the Bluegrass Patriots and more. He plays all the traditional bluegrass instruments and has been praised for his high lead and tenor vocals. He is also a yo-yo champion. After his tour with Rhonda Vincent and the Rage, Ron reformed Within Tradition with powerhouse musicians. All of the band members are multi-instrumentalists, but they play the instruments they love the best: Bruce Johnson on fiddle, Jerry Logan on bass, Hal Horn on Banjo, and Charlie Edsall on guitar. Original songs, warm vibrant harmonies and five outstanding musicians make this bluegrass band from the Pacific Northwest a treat to hear. They perform a hard-driving brand of music that consists of Ron's original songs about love, home, life and sorrow--songs that can keep your foot tapping and put a tear in your eyes.
